Marr College Pupil Gains Valuable Work Experience During Ayrshire Business Week
We were delighted to welcome S4 pupil Jenson from Marr College on work placement with our host organisation, Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce, as part of Ayrshire Business Week.
Throughout the week, Jenson gained valuable insight into the world of work by supporting both the DYW Ayrshire and Chamber Education teams across a range of activities. From attending events and assisting with event preparation to supporting administrative tasks, Jenson was a fantastic addition to the team.
In particular, Jenson made a valuable contribution to DYW Ayrshire’s Entrepreneurial Lunch, helping to welcome over 90 guests and manage event registration and name badges. He also attended the B2B Exhibition at The Park Hotel, where he had the opportunity to meet businesses from across Ayrshire and learn more about the local business community.
Reflecting on his experience, Jenson said:
“This week, I enjoyed going to Seamill Hydro for DYW Ayrshire’s Entrepreneurial Lunch, where I heard from speakers including Brandon from Tempura and Jake from Donnini Apartments as part of Ayrshire Business Week. I also attended a B2B event at The Park Hotel in Kilmarnock and got the chance to see lots of Ayrshire businesses and their exhibition stands. On Monday and Thursday, I completed administrative tasks using software such as Canva and Excel to create content for social media. Overall, I had a really good week at the Chamber.”
Thank you, Jenson, for all of your hard work and enthusiasm throughout the week. We wish you every success in your future career journey!
