Helping connect young people with employers to better prepare them for the World of Work
School engagement
Raise your industry awareness or promote your opportunities by engaging with groups of young people.
WorkExperience
Welcome a pupil on a flexible or a week-long placement to learn more about your business and assist with tasks to gain CV skills.
DYW Pledge
We’re asking you to pledge support in ways that not only benefit the young people of Scotland but benefit your business too. You can build a workforce with the right skills and experience now and in the future.
School engagement
School engagement is one way to support our young people with the transition into the World of Work and we are delighted we can play a small part. This can be achieved through attending career events, supporting mock interviews, hosting a workplace visit, directly inputting into the curriculum, engaging with teachers or setting a real-life business task.

Work Experience
A work placement is a rich and important learning experience for a young person. Pupils will gain meaningful exposure to the world of work and whilst help them to plan their future career. As part of the school work experience placement programme, you would have the option to host a young person on a week-long work experience placement or on a flexible extended work experience placement, for example a number of hours on 1 or 2 days per week over an extended period of weeks or months.
DYW Pledge
The DYW Pledge is a commitment from employers to support Scotland’s young people to succeed in the world of work. As employers and partners, you play a vital role in creating opportunities for young people as they prepare for and take their first steps into the world of work. We’re asking you to pledge support in ways that not only benefit the young people of Scotland but benefit your business too. You can build a workforce with the right skills and experience now and in the future.

Innovative Projects
DYW Ayrshire are proud to fund and support over 198 Innovative Projects across Ayrshire schools and the community. These projects represent a variety of sectors and help young people get hands on experience in an area of their interest, enhancing their chances of future employment.
Marketing Support
DYW Ayrshire can help you promote your offers to our local young people. Offers can be sent directly to schools, our partners and promoted on the DYW Ayrshire social media platforms. If this would benefit your business, our Marketing and Communications Officer would be happy to help.
