Empowering Future Legal Minds: South Ayrshire’s Legal Work Experience Week Inspires Next Generation of Law Professionals
“This year, we were delighted to run once again our Legal Work Experience Week, building on the successes of the initiative, which was rolled-out last year.
Students from across Ayrshire were invited to participate in a week of work experience, in terms of which they rotated through a number of local law firms, gaining an insight into how each business operated and getting to experience first-hand many different areas of legal practice. The students were also given the opportunity to observe proceedings at Ayr Sheriff Court and to round-off the week, were lucky enough to have a Q&A session with a local Sheriff – an invaluable experience which hopefully, they will reflect on for years to come as they progress through their studies and careers.
It was a pleasure to host the students across our offices and we hope that in years to come, those that took part draw on their experiences from over the week and hopefully, consider a career within the thriving legal services sector in Ayr!” Keir Gilius, Partner of Blackhay Solicitors
Pupil Jacob commented, “I really enjoyed the Law Work Experience because it was insightful and I felt that it gave a realistic impression of what the role would involved and not just what is portrayed in the media”.
