Why Woodward support the school work placement programme

“We at Woodward have supported the work experience program ran by the DYW team at the Ayrshire chamber for many years. The benefit of such a programme allows us to work alongside education and provide a real-life working week for schoolkids in a highly complex repair and overhaul environment. 

The benefits for Woodward are many, we learn as coaches and it makes our own staff stronger while providing a much-needed boost to Ayrshire schools and the wider area, we advise on the entry level requirements not only for us but for the Aerospace cluster in general.  

Over the years we have had kids return to us and become employed which has been brilliant and although some have now moved on, we know they had a marvellous journey with us from School to employment and onto bigger and better things. As career builders it started here which for us is exactly the point.  

The workplace and education are working hard on alignment and for any company who can provide support will certainly benefit, every generation is different, and we get real insight into what drives the employees of the future and some insight into what we need to provide.  

We are delighted to be part of this journey and will be committed to supporting for many years to come.”
