Student Visit to Haven Craig Tara Highlights the Importance of Community Engagement in Shaping Future Careers
On 9th October 2024, Haven Craig Tara Holiday Park hosted 10 students and teachers from Ardrossan Academy and Girvan Academy for a site tour to support their Travel and Tourism classes. During the visit, students explored the wide range of opportunities within the company by hearing from staff members about their career paths. Pupils gained insights into its operations in the Travel and Tourism industry via a tour of the food and beverage offerings and leisure facilities.
Key highlights about Haven Craig Tara Holiday Park that pupils learned include:
1,683 caravans on site
17 venues across the park
Approximately 6,000 guests on site at any one time
Haven operates 39 parks across the UK
30% of Haven’s staff are between the ages of 16-21.
Thank you to the team at Craig Tara for organising this event that will support the pupil coursework for their Travel and Tourism classes.
Hear from Nick Livingstone, Head of Food & Beverage:
“The recent student visit To Haven, Craig Tara, served as a timely reminder on the importance that businesses must put on community engagement. It was truly a delight to see how engaged and excited our guests were and that goes for the teachers as well. Whilst it gives these young individuals an opportunity to see a workplace and ask questions ahead of making that first step into employment it also allowed us to see what drew engagement, what drew questions and to better tailor our communication to prospective employees as a result. I highly recommend that other business’s join in on this wonderful programme.”
