Empowering Ayrshire Through Cancer Support: Free Services for Patients, Families, and Youth in Collaboration with Schools and Local Partners
Ayrshire Cancer Support recently visited Ayr Academy and Girvan Academy to raise awareness of the charity by introducing their services and support for young people, enriching the Health and Social Care curriculum at both schools. If you would like to support a Health and Social Care class at a school near you, please get in touch.
“Ayrshire Cancer Support provides free support to anyone in Ayrshire who is affected by a cancer diagnosis; not only the patient themselves but also children, family and friends who are also impacted. We offer a range of services in our centre, schools and the community, including one to one support, counselling, complementary therapy, patient transport, drop in, family support, workshops and peer support.
The Children and Young People service is delighted to work in partnership with Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce & Industry and local schools to provide input into the Health and Wellbeing curriculum, as well as offering wider support to pupils and those working in education settings.
To access support please call 01563 538008 or visit our website www.ayrshirecs.org/services. If you would like to have a chat about how our service can support you, your family or your organisation please get in touch, we are here to help.” Gillian Birrell, Children and Young People’s Services Lead
