Travel & Tourism visit to Royal Troon Golf Club
Ayrshire Chamber’s Education Team have been supporting Travel & Tourism Classes within North and South Ayrshire this school year with meaningful employer interactions including workplace visits and virtual sessions.
During Winter, Travel & Tourism Classes from 3 Ayrshire Secondary Schools, St Matthew’s Academy, Garnock Academy and Prestwick Academy visited the prestigious Royal Troon Golf Club for a workplace visit.
Young people on each of the visits received a highly informative tour of the Clubhouse which covered the history of Royal Troon and some of roles within the business including concierge, booking, membership and food and beverage.
Having hosted the 152nd Open Championship earlier in the year, Royal Troon were in a fantastic position to inform pupils about their important part within the travel and tourism industry.
