Early 2025 saw the return of the annual Information Evenings in partnership with DYW Ayrshire and South, East and North Ayrshire Councils. These are open to all in the authority including young people, parents/carers and educators to find out about the many different career opportunities there are available locally.

We would like to extend our thanks to the many partners who were involved in the success of these events.

South Ayrshire Futures

In its 3rd year, South Ayrshire Futures took place on Wednesday 5th February from 5-7.30pm at Ayr Racecourse. The first section of the event was specifically open for those facing barriers into employment. The remainder of the event was open to all and welcomed over 600 attendees to meet with 51 employers.

One person wrote: “I want to express my thanks to all the staff on the different stands. ALL the staff that were out chatting with my 14year old were engaging, interested, helpful and gave great recommendations. Not one business didn’t do themselves proud. I was really impressed with some the businesses in the Shire.”

Pathways to Careers

In its 2nd year, Pathways to Careers (East) took place on Wednesday 19th February from 5-7.30pm at Ayrshire College Kilmarnock. The first section of the event was specifically open for those facing barriers into employment. The remainder of the event was open to all and welcomed over 450 attendees to meet with 52 employers.

A parent left feedback stating: “I wanted to know more about the choices my son could have. He will be going into 4th year in May and I will definitely come back to future events.”

Your Next Move

In its 3rd year, Your Next Move (North) took place on Wednesday 5th March from 5-7.30pm at Ayrshire College Kilwinning. The first section of the event was specifically open for those facing barriers into employment. The remainder of the event was open to all and welcomed over 800 attendees to meet with 45 employers.

A parent commented, “We were very worried about my son’s future and we have left feeling optimistic. All the stands were very helpful and friendly.”

We are delighted to announce, after their success, the Information Evenings will return early 2026.
